Why Korean Nida fabric changes everything in our abayas

At Abayina, the material is as important as the cut. All our abayas — Noor, Lyna, Naya, Qamar, and Layl — are made from the same fabric: premium Korean Nida. This is no coincidence: it's a deliberate choice, designed to combine comfort, modesty, and elegance for everyday wear.

What is Korean Nida fabric?

Nida is a fabric primarily composed of polyester, renowned in the abaya world for its silky texture and fluid drape. Its more premium Korean version is distinguished by a finer grain and better durability than classic Nidas. This is the fabric found, among others, in our Noor Abaya.

Lightweight, yet perfectly opaque

A good abaya fabric should cover without ever feeling heavy. Korean Nida ticks both boxes: it remains opaque even when worn alone, while being light enough not to weigh down the shoulders during long days. It's this lightness that allows our flared cuts, like that of the Qamar Abaya, to maintain all their movement.

A fluid drape that enhances the silhouette

Korean Nida drapes naturally, never clinging to the body. This fluid drape accompanies every movement and gives the silhouette an elegant and poised look — exactly the balance between modesty and refinement that defines Abayina.

Easy to wear, easy to live with

Unlike more rigid or wrinkle-prone materials, Korean Nida wrinkles very little, making it an ideal fabric for everyday wear and travel. It's easy to care for and maintains its impeccable appearance wash after wash — a real asset for a piece you wear often.

The same fabric, five ways to wear it

This Korean Nida fabric is found throughout our collection: the floral sleeves of the Lyna Abaya and the Naya Abaya, the satin and pearl embroidered trim of the Layl Abaya, or the embroidered brown trim of the Qamar Abaya. Five different cuts, one promise: a fabric that combines modesty, comfort, and elegance.
